Description: The opening clip alone is worth the price of admission. If you’re not familiar with Greek mythology, it may come as a surprise to you to know that one tale describes the seduction of Leda by the lusty god Zeus, who came to her in the guise of a swan. In this film reenactment, a graceful dancer employs—and I’m not kidding—an arm-length puppet to perform both roles. Whether or not you’re into puppets or swans, the model does an excellent job of making the “swan’s” movements fluid and natural. Whatever else it is, it’s captivating. Then it’s on to more standard fare, though swivel-hipped, hula-dancing SYBIL BALL is anything but standard. A pair of refreshing swimming pool clips keeps the momentum of this unique collection going, only to be topped by an astonishing 1930s spectacle of Old Rome’s nude and nubile. What could top that? How about CANDY BARR in an evening gown, or BOBBIE REYNOLDS and friend exchanging seltzer and pies in the face? Not enough? The 1950s “H Bomb” is an exquisite, must-see color clip of an exotic dancer at work. Still not convinced? “Elm Manor Hotel” is a long British loop that features JUNE PALMER, among others, in a spooky Tudor mansion. There may have been a plot, I’m not sure—June Palmer I’m sure of. For good measure let’s throw in Great White Hunter KATHY SUITS, complete with rifle and pith helmet; a blonde in fishnets; and a 1960s big-hair, bump-n-grinding blonde. Finally, a 1960s brunette closes things out in suitably psychedelic fashion.
